Providing The Best Rest For Your Guests
- Published on :02/23/2018
There are few things as exciting as having some dear people stay with us over the weekend. It is also highly intimate – sleeping in someone else’s place can bring a lot of stress for some of us. Luckily, there are quite a few things you can do to make your guests feel like home at your place, resulting in both joyful and restful time for all.
Turn Your Guestroom To A Hotel Room
More often than not, we tend to turn the guest room into a storage space. Hanging old clothing, placing your dear, yet not exactly practical collection of dolls, or anything else that doesn’t fit into the interior. However, this will make your guests feel like you don’t have space for them either. To make them feel comfortable, think of your guestroom as a hotel room. The less clutter – the more space, the more welcoming feel. Guestroom should only contain the essentials – bed, a place to sit, some storage, and cozy details like candles and fragrance diffusers.
All Eyes On Bed
Chances are, your guests are not visiting to spend their time locked in the room. You will probably be having lots of fun and quite intensive time, making the bed very inviting at the end of the day. Therefore, make sure it is welcoming. Get the best bed (and mattress!) you can afford. Then it is time for some crisp, quality percale sheets or sateen sheets. If you live in a colder climate, go for sateen, as your friends, especially if coming from somewhere warmer, might feel chilly at night. Percale, on the other hand, is slightly more universal and more people are used to it, so, if you’re afraid of picky guests, go for that. Whichever fabric you choose, go with white linens, as they are always a classy choice. A neutral bedspread will be highly appreciated, however, if you’re on a budget, a soft blanket can double as that, too. Finally, a cozy throw will protect your guests from getting chilly and will add a nice touch to the whole room.
Little Details Matter
We all know that what truly makes a place a home is the little details. Surely, your guests are only with you for a short amount of time. But if you wish for them to feel as comfortable as possible, don’t hesitate to make an extra step. Throw a few cushions on the bed for a more inviting atmosphere and comfy afternoon naps. Keep a fragrance diffuser somewhere in the room to ensure that the smell there always remains pleasing. And for the ultimate coziness, place a naturally scented candle on the bedside table. It will allow your guests to have that relaxing feel after a long day and help them settle in for some truly wonderful rest.
